Now, I know I’m a day late, but I wanted to take a moment to say Happy Birthday to one of my all time favourite authors. She has touched the lives of millions of people across the world with an incredibly magical and moral story and it is hard to believe that Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone was published in 1997!
Her own story seems just as magical as she went from living in a tiny flat in London living off Benefits to one of the richest women in Britain in just 3 years.
Harry Potter taught us about loyalty, good and evil, doing what is right in the face of adversity, and courage. We’ve watched the trio grow up besides us and adopted them as fictional friends throughout our childhood in which they gave us a sense of escapism. We’ve dreamt of going to Hogwarts, meeting Dumbledore, and pulling pranks with Fred and George! In short, JK Rowling has inspired a generation to pick up a book and be enthralled in another world children and adults alike.
I thank you JK Rowling, for your perseverance throughout hardships and never giving up on Harry and giving hope to millions of people. Happy Birthday JK Rowling, and our friend, Harry Potter.
Favourite Harry Potter Quotes:
‘It is our choices…that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.’
‘Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.’
‘Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?’
